Six Universities Development and Rehabilitation Project: Research and Public Service Faculty Program

Oklahoma State University offered an eight-week program for 25 Indonesian faculty members. The program was offered with collaboration from the University of Kentucky. The program was divided into two major sections: (1) an intensive two-week course in performing research; and (2) a research project in an internship setting at OSU or the University of Kentucky in the participant's chosen field.

Toward a Grid and Group Interpretation of School Culture

Mary Douglas's typology, using grid and group dimensions, provides a means to classify and compare social environments in terms of their differing cultural constraints on individual autonomy. This article, published in Journal of School Leadership, uses the Douglas typology to examine the grid and group characteristics of four diverse schools to determine the framework's applicability to educational settings.

Although Brown v. Board of Education opened doors for the modern integrated system of education, it did not answer many of the questions associated with relational and practical aspects of pluralism. Secondary Principals and School Reform: Explanatory Case Studies using Fullan (1991)

Three explanatory case studies were used to examine the change to inclusion in secondary schools using Fullan (1982, 1991). Findings do not support Fullan and indicate a lack of understanding about inclusion as well. In sum, these schools had implemented the programs they defined as inclusion, but none of the schools were implementing inclusion programs.

Case Study of the Merger of the University Center at Tulsa (UCT) and Rogers State College (RSC)

As an investigation of the circumstances, influences, and events surrounding the merger of UCT and RSC, this study has two distinct foci: (1) an interpretation of how the merger has been received and accommodated by the faculty and staff of RSC, and (2) an analysis of the state level decision making process and its implications for the coordination of public higher education in the state.

A Study of Policy Implementation in Public Colleges and Universities

As an investigation of how three public institutions adopt a statewide mandate on remedial instruction for college students, the research focuses on how faculty and staff define and interpret the policy requirements and intents in order to make decisions and changes that create a fit between the institutional culture and the state's requirement.

Cohort Doctoral Program

This five-year project provides instruction for a cohort of 10 Thai university faculty and administrators toward a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Administration and Higher Education. The courses are offered on the campus of Oklahoma State University, and on the campus of Siam University in Bangkok, Thailand.
