A Celebration of Teaching
The Oklahoma State University College of Education and the Oklahoma Teachers of the Year (OKTOY) organization convened a statewide Celebration of Teaching focusing on cultural diversity and sensitivity. OSU teacher education faculty and the OKTOY organization have implemented collaborative projects to encourage all promising young students to enter teaching. To better meet the needs of Oklahoma schools, the conference will continue, as its primary focus, the recruiting of the brightest and most able students to the teaching profession, and will also provide experiences designed to increase cultural sensitivity of students and educators.
